The niner did not take rodger, because is was only good one year. Yes it would have been a ticket seller. (Cal Bear fans are loyal) But he played in a JR college for 2 years and only one year of big time football. If he was really good he would have been drafted out of HS. Plus the Niners need a reason to stink for another year. They won’t have to spend any money on a marquee player till 2 more years.
The only one listeing to Steinbrenner is Torre. Everyone of the players are only listening to their agents.

Michael G, thanks for the reply. Good thought about the Cal Bear going to the 49ers, but as you said, he just was not good enough to be drafted as the first overall pick in the draft. Will he be better than Alex Smith? There is a very good possibility because he will be working behind the greatest quarterback of this generation for at least a season and with an already established playoff team, so success in Green Bay is definetely more likey than in San Fransisco.
PS. No Football Player can be drafted out of High School. Haven’t you been paying attention to Maurice Clarett and Mike Williams this past year? Thanks for listening!!
