Happy New Year!

Filed under: — The Skinny @ 1:23 pm

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and have a happy new year!

No show from us this week since we are in different cities, but not to worry, we’ll be back soon with lots of new sports commentary. We’re also hoping to have a new sound for the first show of the new year including a new intro, outro, and background music. Even if it’s not quite ready though, we’ll have another show out shortly.

If you’re really looking for something to do, head on over to PodcastAlley and give our show a vote!

Enjoy yoursevles and be safe!

Thanks Ben - Tracks Up the Tree

Filed under: — The Skinny @ 8:04 am

We just wanted to send out another thanks to Ben at Tracks Up the Tree. In addition to being a listener of the show, Ben is responsible for the ‘Download Me’ graphic that we use when we post new Podcasts. To our surprise, when we checked the email yesterday, Ben had voluntarily sent us a new graphic (similar to the old one, but he added the whistle around his neck). We think it looks great! (You may have to refresh your browser to see the new graphic in our Podcast posts.)

If you haven’t listened to Ben’s show, check him out at upthetree.com. He plays great music, and most of it you can download for free on the internet. If you like what you’re hearing, give him a vote over at PodcastAlley.com. He’s currently in the top 10 Podcasts - let’s see if he can go higher. While you’re there, if you like our show, head over to the Sports section and give us a vote as well!

We’re flattered!

Filed under: — The Skinny @ 4:36 pm

As you would have heard in the last show we did, Adam Curry, the pioneer of Podcasting and host of Daily Source Code has expressed that he is impressed with what we are doing here at The Skinny on Sports. Adam also has a list that he likes to call the PodSquad which contains the lists of shows that he listens to himself. We are happy to say, that we are now on the list! Coming from the leader in this new and exciting technology, this means a lot to us. Thanks Adam!

UPDATE: Adam mentioned The Skinny on Sports again on today’s show (Dec. 7) as he was talking about short Podcasts that he likes. We’re going to send a little promo over to Adam and see if he’ll use it on an upcoming show.

Any comments and/or suggestions to make this Podcast even better, please email us at theskinnyonsports@hoydnewsnetwork.com.
